HS 1P/3P Algebra I Class (3/13/18)

Objectives: I can sketch the graph of a quadratic function.
find the x-intercepts of a parabola by factoring the corresponding quadratic equation.
Homework: 1) Factoring WS (Practice B: #1-3, 7-9). 2) Complete all retakes and makeup work by Friday, 3/23/18. 3) Formative #28 (complete factoring): tomorrow.
Procedure:
1. 1) Return papers. Collect your cell phone. (1P: Marco, Lily, Brandon; 3P: Marko, Tommy / Maria, Breanna, Grace B. / Alaina + Lidia + Elise) talk to Ms. Chang, please. 2) Check H/W. Questions? Collect.

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about the Chinese calligraphy. 3) I can explore traditional Chinese folk art of cutting papers.
Homework: 1) Unit #1 chapter test: Monday, 3/26. 2) Review 14 learned terms.
Procedure:
1. 1) Quick review. 2) Teach (Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi). 3) Class activity.
2. 1) Video clip: Chinese calligraphy. 2) Showcase Four Treasures of Chinese Study + paper cut products. 3) Work on paper-cut patterns.

Objectives: I can identify connections between different representations of quadratic functions. .
Homework: 1) Section 8.2.1 Pages 389-391 (#8-58 ~ #-8-63, no #8-61 c, d, & e). 2) Chapter 8 team test: Monday, 3/26/18. Chapter 8 individual test: Wednesday, 3/28/18.
Procedure:
1. 1) Sit with your new group. Return papers. Collect your cell phone. (1P: Sheiry; 3P: Grace R.) talk to Ms. Chang, please. Recognition time (1P: Mia, Sheiry; 3P: Bella). Turn in Chapter 7 Math Notes and last Friday’s in-class seat work, please. There is an assembly this morning. 2) Collect homework from last Friday. 3) Quiz #27.
