Getting to know your teacher is an important thing. Many of my students have never had a male teacher before they get to the Middle School. So, many wonder, “What is he like?”
I love teaching! My father was a teacher and he had a BIG influence on me. He was a football coach for many years, and when I was little he used to take me to games with him. I got to the meet the players, ride on the bus, and be on the sidelines. Later on in life, I got to shadow my dad while he was at work. I saw what he did and how he did it. The best part was that he took me out to lunch that day. I finally decided in 7th grade to be a teacher when I had an awful social studies teacher. I wanted to help kids to really learn. After high school, I went to the University of Akron and began my college career. I eventually graduated with a degree in elementary education. Believe it or not, that was fifteen years ago and I still love what I do! A little more. I then went back to the University of Akron to earn my masters degree in instructional technology…computers are a passion of mine. From my youth to this point in my life, teaching has what I wanted to do for a career.
I am married and have two children. My wife’s name is Jennifer and I have two children. You’ll have to ask me their names in class. I have a brother and a sister as well. They are both married with children.
Sports are a big part of my life. I enjoy playing golf and basketball, though I do a lot of running around with my daughter kicking a soccer ball.
Finally, I am into all things tech. I love the newest things, or at least looking at them as most of the time I cannot afford them. I like Mac as much as PC. I have used both in my career. If someone were to ask me which I prefer, I prefer Mac.
