Ohio history
Students will learn about Ohio’s unique history from the earliest people to statehood.

We learn about the people who have come to inhabit Ohio from the Paleo Indians to recent immigrants, and the reasons why they came to live in Ohio.
geography
Students will learn about the compass rose and its application to find other places and geographical locations relative to Ohio, and how to use various kinds of maps to gather data about a particular area in our world.
economics
We begin learning the basics like goods and services, supply and demand, needs and wants, producer and consumer, profit, wages, and the four factors of production called CELL (capital, entrepreneurship, land, and labor). Students create a mock company to sell a good or service to apply basic economic principles.
government
We learn about our state government, its branches, and what each branch does in state government. Words like legistlative, executive, and judidical are learned and help students to become more familiar with how our state government works.
