Squishy Circuits

This week, we made “Squishy Circuits” in Makers’ Club.  We mixed and prepared the insulating dough during our club time while Miss Kolis prepared the conductive dough at home.  We used battery packs and LED lights to form a circuit and light up the bulbs. You can find out more about Squishy Circuits here.

We’re Making Monsters!

This week, students were able to use any of the available materials to make a robot or monster.  The robot or monster was supposed to have movable arms, but that was a little more difficult than we thought it would be. Also this week, students had a chance to tell what they loved about Makers’ Club and many of them were featured on my twitter page with their quotes.

2015-2016 Makers’ Club

Our Makers’ Club continued throughout the 2015-2016 school year. We used the reading intervention room for the club meetings and used the hallway to store materials. This was our first project that year. Problem: Miss Kolis has no stand for her phone! Challenge: Build a phone stand for Miss Kolis out of marshmallows and toothpicks.  The phone stand must be at least 6 inches tall and hold up the phone for at least 10 seconds.
