MACBETH ESSAY DUE DATE = MONDAY, NOVEMBER 3RD (it will be a 2nd quarter grade)

Extra Credit Option

• If you are on the bubble, you may choose to complete the following assignment for extra points.  On the bubble means 1 or 2 percent away from the next grade.
• Research a historical aspect of the play (the real Macbeth, Banquo or Duncan; withcraft during Macbeth’s time; battles and the army during Macbeth’s time; role of women during Macbeth’s time; etc.)
• Cite correctly for direct quotes and paraphrases.
• Provide a correct MLA works cited page.
• Minimum of one full paragraph, maximum of two.

We will be the lab (153) Monday - Wednesday working on our Macbeth essays.  Essays are due by the end of class on Wednesday.  Remember, the quarter ends Thursday.  Please view your internet gradebook to make sure you don’t have any questions about your grade.

Today we did a quick write and also went over the vocab. for the story.  We will begin reading Monday so be sure to bring your text books to class.

If you were absent today, you have a test to make up. Make sure to schedule a time ASAP since the quarter ends Thursday.

Today we previewed our first short story, The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allan Poe.  Make sure to bring your text book tomorrow.  And keep working on those reading and writing projects!

Today we discussed our field trip.  What a show!  It seemed like everyone really liked it!  Check out the slides for a quick review for tomorrow’s test.

Today we met with our writing groups to get feedback for one of the pieces we will be turning in for the quarterly workshop project.  Remember, Reading Workshop is due Monday 10/27, Writing Workshop is due Wed. 10/29.

HW - parts of speech poem due tomorrow

Today we reviewed the parts of speech and worked on a parts of speech poem.  Poem is due Thursday at the beginning of class.  Don’t forget your writing workshop piece for class tomorrow.

Today we finished reading Macbeth just in time for our field trip tomorrow! 

THEATER REMINDERS:

1. No electronic devices.

2. No food in the theater.

3. No jeans.

4. Be respectful - this is a live performance and as such you will need to remain quiet.

5. Pack a lunch.

6. Sit with your class.

Today we turned in our last reading log of the quarter and took our narrative unit test.  We also had time to work on our reading and writing workshop projects which are due next week.
