Semester Examination:
Semester exams are administered at the end of each semester and count for 20%
of the semester grade. All students in this course are required to sit
for the semester exam - NO EXCEPTIONS! The exam schedule will be
posted when available. Students who have a planned absence during the exam
period will be required to take the exam prior to the planned absence.
Students with an excused absence at the time of the exam must make arrangements
with the instructor for a make-up exam.
Make-up Policy:
Unplanned Excused Absence
 | When a student returns from an absence, it is his/her responsibility to
make arrangements for completing make-up work. Generally, students
will be allowed one make-up day for each day absent, but exceptions may be
made with the approval of the teacher. If a student will be absent for
a prolonged period of time, assignments may be obtained by calling the
office at 740-4715. A day's notice is necessary in order to give the
office time to collect the assignments.
Please note that if a student is present the day before a test and absent
on the test day, the test must be taken immediately upon return to
school. No extra days are provided. |
Planned Absence
 | Absence for a family trip or vacation, extracurricular activities,
non-school sponsored activities, college visitations, etc., is to be
considered a Planned Absence. An Advance Notice of Absence
is to be completed and submitted to the Assistant Principals' Offices prior
to the scheduled absence from school. |
 | It is the student's responsibility to make arrangements for makeup work
and/or tests missed upon return to school. No more than one day's
make-up time shall be permitted for each day of absence. The teacher
will not be expected to tutor individual students. |
 | All work and/or tests are expected to be made up in the prescribed period
of time. If the planned absence begins within one day of a
scheduled test, the test must be taken before the absence begins.
Failure to make-up missed assignments will result in zero (0) credit to be computed in the
pupil's current grading period average. |
Tardiness:
 | Each student will be permitted five (5) Excused Tardies each
semester. Beginning with the sixth (6th) excused tardy, students will
be marked absent and forfeit the right to make up work missed and be subject to disciplinary
action. |
 | STUDENTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO MAKE-UP BELL QUIZZES. Students
may apply extra-credit work to make-up for missed quizzes. |
