The class enjoyed learning about the praying mantis, an insect native to Ohio. They made masks and went in search of grasshoppers to feed our class mantis, Crystal.

Mrs. Pagel has been teaching in Brecksville-Broadview Heights for 23 years. She earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from Bowling Green State University. After completing her Master’s degree in reading, Mrs. Pagel began teaching at Highland Drive Elementary as the reading specialist. The next year she moved to Hilton to teach first grade. After 10 years in first grade it was time for a change. Mrs. Pagel spent 6 years in a looping program in which she taught first and second grade to the same group of students. For the past 10 years Mrs. Pagel has been teaching second grade.
Mrs. Pagel is married and has a 10 year old son. She enjoys skiing, biking and spending time with her family.
