This week our class will be writing descriptive paragraphs. Students will create a classroom sculpture that they will explain on paper. The tricky part is that they are not allowed to say it is a chair. They can say that it is a four-legged object that you sit on and is yellow. This is to show the class that you need to be able to describe things well in order for someone to understand. When they are all done with this description, it will come home with a parent letter for you to draw! Don’t worry; you will not be graded on your drawings!
We will also begin reading the book Ramona Quimby Age 8.
Math
Students will review the meaning of symmetry; and explore properties of symmetric shapes. They will also be able to explore congruent shapes, line segments, and practice naming decimals.
