Mr. Wasil’s 3rd Grade Class

The kids were pretty creative for our Fad Day today. In chapter 3 of Ramona Quimby Age 8 the kids have a fad day at school where they bring in a hard boiled egg and crack it over their heads. Well, my students voted on Crazy Hair Day. See pictures below.

We learned about the importance of Loam in class and we did an experiment to see what would happen if we planted grass seed in Loam and also in Clay. Check out the pictures below. I guess the Loam wins…

I am so proud of my students’ efforts with these. Way to go!!!

Our first Read-A-Thon day was a huge success. Thank you so much to Sam G. for bringing his camera in and taking all of these awesome pictures. Way to go Sam.

To introduce rocks and minerals to the kids we made rocks in class using glue, sand, gravel and water. We then discussed how rocks form in nature through sediments. This will lead us into the 3 types of rocks. Sedimentary, Metamorphic and Igneous.
